What Is BMR?
BMR stands for Basal Metabolic Rate. It is an estimate of the number of calories your body needs each day simply to keep essential processes working while you are completely at rest.

BMR vs. Daily Calorie Needs

Estimated BMR ≈ 1,543 calories per dayThis does not mean he should automatically eat exactly 1,543 calories per day. His actual daily energy requirements would normally be higher because ordinary daily activity requires additional energy.
